Adrian and Fran came to us wanting more than additional space. They wanted a home that felt calmer, more connected, and better suited to the rhythm of family life—a place to retreat from busy days and enjoy simple moments together.

Through our integrated design-and-build approach, we guided the project from initial concept through planning, technical design, and construction, ensuring every decision contributed to a clear and cohesive vision. By coordinating each stage as a single process, we were able to balance creative ambition with practical delivery, maintaining clarity and control throughout the journey.

Our response was to create a light-filled extension centred around wellbeing, comfort, and connection. A magnificent 4 × 2m rooflight draws natural light deep into the space, while an infinity picture window with a generous window seat creates a quiet place to pause, read, and watch the seasons unfold.

Behind the simplicity of the finished space lies careful technical coordination. Structural interventions were designed to maximise openness and uninterrupted sightlines, while concealed details—including a hidden utility door—allow the architecture to feel calm, uncluttered, and effortless. Expansive bifold doors strengthen the connection between home and garden, while a log burner provides a warm focal point during the colder months.

Glazed pocket doors separate the adjoining home office, offering flexibility between focused working and family life without compromising light or flow. Every element was carefully considered, from spatial planning and material choices to the finer details that shape the everyday experience of the home.

The result is more than an extension. It is a thoughtfully resolved transformation that demonstrates how architecture, technical expertise, and construction can work together to create a home that feels brighter, calmer, and more connected to the way the family lives.
